Reflexology

A Gentle Path to Balance and Wellbeing

Reflexology has been used for centuries across the world, from Ancient Egypt and China to Native American cultures, as a natural way to treat and heal. While modern reflexology techniques differ from historical methods, the goal has always remained the same: to ease discomfort and promote wellbeing.

Reflexology became popular in the UK during the 1960s, thanks to pioneers like Doreen Bayly, who opened the first reflexology school in 1978. Since then, many colleges and complementary therapy courses have included reflexology in their syllabus.

Today, reflexology is recognised as a gentle, non-invasive, and deeply relaxing treatment. It works by stimulating specific points on the feet (or hands) that correspond to different areas of the body. These points, known as reflexes, help the body achieve a state of balance, supporting its natural ability to heal itself.

During a session, no tools, gadgets, pills, or potions are used — only the skilled, careful touch of the therapist. This gentle stimulation can also assist the body in releasing toxins accumulated from stress and a busy lifestyle.

Reflexology is entirely comfortable for the client. While some sensitive reflexes may produce mild discomfort initially, the therapist adjusts the pressure to suit individual needs, ensuring the experience remains relaxing and restorative.

Your Reflexology Session

Each reflexology session begins with a personal consultation to understand your needs and determine the most beneficial treatment for you.

Before your treatment, you’ll enjoy a relaxing foot soak while listening to soft, soothing music, helping you unwind and prepare for the session. This is followed by a gentle foot massage, which further relaxes your muscles and prepares the reflex points.

Finally, your therapist will deliver the reflexology treatment tailored to you, focusing on the areas that will bring you the most benefit. Every step is designed to ensure a deeply relaxing and restorative experience, leaving you feeling refreshed and balanced.
